Sioux Falls Neighborhood GuideKnow Your Neighbors

Sioux Falls has 24 registered neighborhood associations. Find yours, meet the people behind it, or start one where you live.

Step one

Find your neighborhood

Tap a colored area to see who's organizing there. White parts of the map don't have a registered association yet. That could be your opening.

Step two

Don't see yours? Start one.

You don't need a title, a budget or a big crowd. Based on the City of Sioux Falls Neighborhood Handbook, here's how to begin with ten neighbors or fewer.

01

Gather a core group

Find a handful of neighbors who want to help. Talk about what you hope to change or celebrate on your blocks.

03

Host a first meeting

Pick a neutral spot like a church, school or park. Weeknight evenings or Saturday midday work best. Start with one issue people care about.

04

Make it official

Adopt simple bylaws, set your boundaries, and register with the city. Registered associations get city support and a spot on this map.

An easy first step

Throw a block party with a purpose

National Night Out brings neighbors, police and firefighters together on the same night across the country. It's one of the easiest ways to meet the people on your block, and a natural first meeting for a new association.

  • In 2026, Sioux Falls parties ran 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 4
  • Registration opened in April and closed July 24, through the Sioux Falls Police Department's community resource officer
  • The city waived park reservation fees and offered free street-closure permits

Watch for 2027 registration next spring. We'll share it in The Rise. Source: Dakota News Now.

Where this comes from

Keeping it current

  • Boundaries, contacts, emails and phone numbers come from the City of Sioux Falls neighborhood association list. We last checked it on Oct. 4, 2026.
  • When we can confirm newer board members or a public website or Facebook page, we add them and name the source and date.
  • Neighborhood boundaries are drawn by each association and registered with the city. They can differ from school, council or precinct lines.
  • Run an association, or spot something out of date? Tell us and we'll fix it fast.
